The collection consists of miscellaneous letters, mailings, posters, bumper stickers, pins, pamphlets, booklets and reading lists of over 500 different radical political organizations and social movement groups active between 1953 and 1980. The Vietnam War and the draft are the major topics. Other issues include civil rights, the rise of feminism, student rights, desegregation, and the formation of libertarian and conservative groups. Among the groups represented are the American Civil Liberties Union, American Friends Service Committee, Collector's network, Committee of Returned Volunteers, Radical Education Project, Southern Regional Council, United States National Student Association, and the War Resisters League.
